Orchid Fallen

Found an old poem I wrote three years ago. Thought I’d share it here.

ORCHID FALLEN

Our love is like

an orchid fallen

crumpled buds and

scattered pollen

satin petals

shriveled and pale

so, sad, so stale.

Our love is like

an orchid fallen

wilted stems and

scattered pollen

rotting roots

dried and twisted

so pitiful, so dead.

Our love is like

an orchid fallen

so barren, so stripped down,

so scorched brown, so disgraced

why’d she kill us in the first place?
